"Earth"

 This exhibition is a collection of works by members of the Gin Gin & District Fine Arts Society.

We have each considered an aspect of our beautiful planet and expressed our interpretations in a medium of our choosing.

The challenge was to present artworks inspired by the diversity of our natural surroundings.  To express how we felt about the earth using a range of subjects that meant something to us.  Anything from a simple landscape to a chunk of dirt or a drop of water or anything else that makes up the earth we live on whether it be large or small, old or new.  (L. Perk)

This exhibition will be held from Saturday 4th July until Thursday 13th August 2015.
The Opening Ceremony will be held on Saturday 4th July 2015 at 2 p.m.

"Chris & RajArt"

The Gin Gin Courthouse Gallery is delighted to present the first exhibition by developing young Gin Gin artists Chris Doyle and Raj Rogers in “Chris and RajArt”, from Saturday 23rd May to Thursday 2nd July 2015.

Chris is a new comer to the world of art, developing an interest in 2012, while spending time with renowned Australian artist Pat Witcher.  Focusing mainly on drawing in ink, he has also developed an interest in sculpture using steel, wood and other recycled objects.  His interests are often natural, including native wildlife, marine life and portraits of people at both ends of the age spectrum.

Narayan Raj Rogers has been exploring paint since 2012.  He has enjoyed three years of experimenting mixing paints, glues, pigments; water paints, acrylic, homemade egg paints and flour paints.  He has been developing colours through mixing, spray paints and layering, and composition through collage.  He has especially had fun with different mediums and textures, using paint on walls, cement, wood, and especially covering his body with paint and them plastering himself with paper, cardboard or carpet and peeling them off!

A Rajput, Raj originates from the great artisans of Udaipur, Rajasthan, India.  He currently lives in a studio on an acre of bushland just outside Gin Gin, Queensland which he shares with 3 fish, 2 guineas, 5 hens and a rooster, and where he is free to explore, play, swim, run, ride, climb, sing, dance, jump, bounce, swing, slide, sleep and eat at leisure, in his humanist kind of way!

"ARTIST FRIENDS"

"Artist Friends" is the name chosen by the Monto Art Group for their exhibition at the Gin Gin Courthouse Gallery, as the name explains who they are...Artists and Friends.

The Group has been going for many years and has two life members, who were there at the formation of the Art Group.

Over the years the members have held exhibitions in Monto, Mulgildie, Biloela and Mt. Perry.  They are now the stewards for the art section at the local Monto Show in April, and most of their members support the art section each year with their paintings.

Many of their members have been away to workshops in Mulgildie, Kenilworth, Maryborough and Mt. Perry.  They have held workshops in Monto, bringing in tutors from far and near to encourage and promote the groups artistic skills, and also have encouraged outside artists to have exhibitions in Monto at the Cultural Centre.

The Monto Art Group are looking forward to this exhibition in the Gin Gin Courthouse Gallery as a way of giving art lovers a chance to see what the artists of Monto have to offer.

The Exhibition Season is Tuesday 7th April to Thursday 21st May 2015.  Opening Ceremony is Saturday 11th April at 2 p.m.

                                 L to R:  Sandra Clarke, Secretary; Sue Ison, Publicity Officer;
                                              Elaine Cook, Treasurer and Coralie Keiler, President.
